Who We Are

Mission Statement: Community Chaplain Response Team endeavors to strengthen community health in Harvey County through agency networking, chaplaincy support, disaster relief volunteer teams, community-based reentry, and reintegration services, and community awareness supporting suicide prevention and intervention through education.

Vision Statement “Taking the streets back!” Assuring no person is left behind so, that we reduce recidivism in our local jail working through peace and social justice in our communities. Giving back to the communities through our Disaster Relief efforts. Restoring hope through suicide prevention and awareness.

What We Do

In our Disaster Relief tier: We respond to natural disasters and man made disasters. We assist 1st Responders with proper nutrition and hydration while they're on scene. Also, we assist those affected by the disaster with resources for shelter, housing, etc., including moral and spiritual support. Another tier is our Peer Mentor Program. Our Mentors are Kansas Certified Peer Mentors/Specialists. All staff is crossed trained in every tier within our program. We work with community partners in Harvey County to reduce recidivism at our local jails and prisons. This is accomplished by providing them with resources. Such as referring them for housing, finding rental assistance, finding utility assistance, finding jobs, finding mental and addition health care providers, etc. The goal is to reduce recidivism and help these individuals become positive contributing members of our community. The 3rd tier is our Suicide Prevention and Intervention through education and resources. We host an annual Softball Tournament in memory of those affected by suicide.
